How to create an FTP account

cPanel › Files › FTP Accounts

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. In the Files section, click FTP Accounts.
3. Enter a Log In name and choose the Domain.
4. Enter a strong Password, or use the Password Generator.
5. Check the Directory. The account can only reach this folder and the folders inside it. Use public_html for access to your main website.
6. Set a Quota, or choose Unlimited.
7. Click Create FTP Account.

The FTP username is the full name shown in the list, such as designer@yourdomain.com. Next, see how to connect with FileZilla.

To change the password or remove access later, find the account under FTP Accounts and click Change Password or Delete.

Can’t find it? Type the tool’s name into the search box at the top of cPanel.
