Uplink Chat FAQ
How does Uplink know about my business?
When you sign up, Uplink reads the pages of your website and writes down the facts. You can check and edit everything it knows in your chat settings, and add things like prices, hours and service areas. Uplink only answers from those facts.
What counts as an AI reply?
Each message Uplink sends to a visitor is one AI reply. A typical chat uses about 3 to 5. Messages you send yourself are free and unlimited.
What happens when my AI replies run out?
The chat stays on your website. Uplink asks visitors for their name and phone or email and alerts you, so you can answer them yourself. Your replies reset on the 1st of each month, or you can upgrade to Pro.
Does it work on WordPress, Wix or other website builders?
Yes. It works on any website where you can add a line of code, including WordPress, and you don’t need to host with us.
Do I need to watch the chat all day?
No. Uplink answers on its own. You only get an alert when someone needs a person, and you can reply from your phone whenever it suits you.
Can visitors send pictures or screenshots?
Yes. Visitors can attach a picture or file, or paste a screenshot right into the chat. Uplink can read what’s in a picture, like an error message, and you can send pictures and files back. Files up to 10 MB are fine.
What happens after business hours?
Set your hours in your chat settings. When you’re closed, the chat says so and tells visitors when you open again. Uplink keeps answering questions and takes their details so you can get back to them. If you turn the AI off, visitors get a simple “Leave a message” form instead.
Can more than one person answer chats?
Yes. Add your team in your chat settings and each person gets their own login, their own phone alerts, and their own name in the chat. Starter includes 2 people (you and one more) and Pro includes 5. Team members can answer and pass chats to each other, but only the owner can change the settings.
Will you add more features?
Yes. We’re adding new features to Uplink Chat all the time, and they come with your plan at no extra cost.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Plans are month to month with no contract. Cancel from your client area or give us a call.
