How to write, publish and delete WordPress posts

Remove the sample content

New WordPress sites come with a “Hello world!” post, a sample comment and a “Sample Page”.

1. Go to Posts › All Posts, hover over Hello world! and click Trash. Its sample comment goes with it.
2. Go to Pages › All Pages, hover over Sample Page and click Trash.

Write and publish a post

1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard at https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin. See how to log in to WordPress.
2. Go to Posts › Add New Post.
3. Type your title, then click in the body and start writing. Click + to add images, headings, lists and other blocks.
4. In the settings panel on the right, choose a Category and set a Featured image.
5. Click Publish, then Publish again to confirm.

Delete one or more posts

1. Go to Posts › All Posts.
2. To delete one post, hover over it and click Trash.
3. To delete several, tick them, choose Move to Trash from the Bulk actions menu and click Apply.

Trashed posts can be restored from the Trash link at the top of the posts list. WordPress deletes them permanently after 30 days.
