How to change your WordPress password or display name

Update your WordPress login password and the name shown on your posts.

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard at https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin. See how to log in to WordPress.
  2. Go to Users › Profile.
  3. To change the name shown on your posts, fill in your First Name, Last Name or Nickname, then pick it from Display name publicly as.
  4. To change your password, scroll to Account Management, click Set New Password and enter a new, strong password.
  5. Click Update Profile.

Administrators can change other users’ details from Users › All Users. Forgot your password and can’t log in? Use the Lost your password? link on the login page.
