How to change your cPanel password

Use a strong, unique password for cPanel, since it controls your whole website and email.

cPanel › Preferences › Password & Security

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. In the Preferences section, click Password & Security.
3. Enter your Old Password.
4. Enter your New Password twice, or click Password Generator to create a strong one. Save it somewhere safe.
5. Click Change your password now!

This password is also used for FTP and other services on your main cPanel account. Update any apps that use it, such as an FTP program.
