DNS records tell the internet where to find your website and where to deliver your email. You may need to add a record to verify your domain with a service such as Google or Microsoft, or to use a third-party email provider.
cPanel › Domains › Zone Editor
- Log in to cPanel.
- In the Domains section, click Zone Editor.
- Next to your domain, click Manage.
- Click + Add Record, or use the quick + A Record, + CNAME Record or + MX Record buttons.
- Enter the Name, choose the Type and enter the Record value exactly as the service gave it to you.
- Click Save Record.
Common record types
- A: points a name to an IP address.
- CNAME: points a name to another name.
- MX: says which server receives your email.
- TXT: text used for domain verification and email security (SPF, DKIM and DMARC).
